Sigiriya
Sigiriya is known as "Lion Rock Fortress" situated in Sri Lanka named as a UNESCO world heritage as well.

Sigiriya is over 200m tall from the ground level. The story of Sigiriya begins with King Kashyapa who was reigned the Kingdom in the 5th Century CE. It was told by the stories that king Kashyapa killed his farther for treasure after killing his father he was afraid that his brother Mugalang will kill him, so he moved his palace from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya.
Sigiriya has 3 main things.
- King's Palace
- Gardens
- Lion Gate
Kings' palace is situated at top of the rock. The mind-blowing fact is that how people transport material required for the palace to the top of the mountain.
And Gardens were well structured pools water fountains were also there these royal gardens are considering as the world's oldest structured gardens as well. The design of hydration system was immense.
If you were to enter the Sigiriya you have to enter Sigiriya through Lions Gate. Even though there was only the paws of the lion remains today it senses the powerful reign that King Kashayapa has established.
Also in Sigiriya there was this vibrant images depicts Apsaras. Which will depicts the talent of south Asian artists.
King Kashyapa's reign ended is 495CE so as Sigiriya history say that king Mugalang has invaded Sigiriya and Kashyapa left alone by soldiers and committed suicide, later until 14th Centaury it remains as a Buddhist Monastery.
In 1982 Sigiriya was declared as a UNESCO world heritage.
Until today Sigiriya is one of the famous tourist destinations in Sri Lanka.
